Vasse Felix Tasting
Thursday 20th September
Oxford Street Brasserie
7.30 Aperitif 8.00 Start (prompt)
Presented by Virginia Willcocks - Chief Winemaker
Tickets £39.95 each

We are pleased to announce a very special tasting with one of Australia's leading wineries, Vasse Felix. Vasse Felix was the first winery to start producing wine in the cult growing region of the Margaret River. The Heytesbury range clearly shows the heights this winery has achieved, but all the wines in the portfolio are first class.

The format will follow a similar pattern to our hugely successful Sherry tasting. A range of wines will be introduced by Virginia Willcocks, these wines will then be paired with a taster-size portion of food, expertly prepared by the folks at the Oxford Street Brasserie (our favourite restaurant in Harrogate at the moment by a long way). This is a preliminary list of the wines we will taste:

Vasse Felix Adams Road Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc
Vasse Felix Adams Road Chardonnay
Vasse Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay
Vasse Felix Adams Road Cabernet / Shiraz
Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon
Vasse Felix Shiraz
Vasse Felix Heytesbury

Boekenhoutskloof Semillon 2004 16.99

We have long been fans of the work of Marc Kent, every since his 1997 Syrah burst onto the scene we have admired his wines and for us there could hardly be a more consistent winemaker in the Cape.

Semillon is probably not the most fashionable of grapes at the moment, but this is a wonder and shows just how great this noble grape can be. He took the decision to hold it back for an extra year, a decision that has clearly paid off.

Our allocation is small and this is probably the rarest of all his wines, so dont hang about.

Burgundy 2005 tasting

We have had our first load of Burgundy arrive from the much heralded 2005 vintage, at this stage they are mainly whites with a smattering of reds. We plan only holding a small tasting which will be a ticket affair sometime in August.

If you would like to hear about this first then please drop us a line at info@harrogatefinewinecompany.com or call the shop on 01423 522270
