Chateau Musar offer

Any of you who have been in the shop will know of our love of the wines of Chateau Musar, we recently received a letter from Chateau Musar telling us of some pretty dramatic changes in the prices for the New Year.

We felt as the price increases would be substantial we would put out an offer before the prices took effect.

Musar 2000 Current Price £15.99 New Price £18.99
Musar 1999 Current Price £16.99 New Price £19.99
Musar 1998 Current Price £17.99 New Price £20.99
Musar 1997(ltd) Current Price £21.99 New Price £26.99
Musar 1993(ltd) Current Price £30.99 New Price £36.99
Musar 1991(ltd) Current Price £33.99 New Price £41.99

Musar 2000(Mag) Current Price £33.99 New Price £40.99
Musar 1999(Mag) Current Price £34.99 New Price £43.99
Musar 1998(Mag) Current Price £36.99 New Price £45.99
Musar 1997(Mag)(ltd)Current Price £45.99 New Price £56.99

All prices are for single bottles and the 75cl bottles come in cases of 12 and the magnums come in cases of 6.

All case orders placed on or before the 15th December will receive a 10% case discount and be charged at the current price. The wine should be available by the end of the following week.

Some of the wines are already in short supply and we fully expect Chateau Musar to be very busy over the coming weeks due to the price increases. So we cannot guarantee availability, but we will do everything we can to fulfil any orders.

Out of the list we personally think the 1999 and the 1997 are worth special consideration.

Portfolio Tasting

Big thanks to everyone who came along to the Portfolio tasting at Hotel du Vin last Friday. It was our best attended tasting to date.

All the wines were showing well but the most ordered wine on the night was the...

Grande Arche Grand Cru St. Emilion 2004 £17.99

The cepage is made up from 97% Merlot with just a small helping of Cabernet Franc. The grapes for this 2004 vintage Grand Cru were harvested from vineyards in the South west of the region no more than a mile or so from the walled town of St. Emilion itself. The wine was matured in new French oak casks for 14 months and was bottled in May 2005. A fantastic Grand Cru, which shows softness of touch with intense damson and black fruit, flavours. 2004 for the right hand side of Bordeaux has developed into a fine vintage with the wines really beginning to show their quality.
