2017 Domaine Stéphane Magnien 'Les Sentiers' 1er Cru Chambolle Musigny 6 x 750ml (In Bond)
Proprietor Stéphane Magnien entered into the family business in 2002 after inheriting a winemaking legacy going back four generations to his ancestor, Victor Magnien, in the early 20th Century. Les Sentiers is the northernmost Premier Cru climat of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation in the Cote de Nuits. While Chambolle-Musigny wines are better known for their delicacy, the terroir here is more closely aligned with neighboring Morey-Saint-Denis, giving a slightly more muscular style of red wine. Aromas of red fruits, black cherries, violets, liquorice and a hint of forest floor. Very mellow and soft on the palate with notes of damsons, cranberries, sour cherry sweets and spice. Well integrated, fine tannins and a long finish.
