    2014 Boekenhoutskloof Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon

    £39.99

The first new release from Boekenhoutskloof in 15 years has been worth the wait. Their Franshhoek Cabernet is proper 'hen's teeth' material so we were delighted when this Stellenbosch offering appeared. It's a mighty wine - not because it's full-bodied and muscular, the reason is that it's been built to last. Vivid wild berried fruit - blackcurrant, mulberry blueberry - are matched by black pepper, tar and earthy notes. It needs time - we would suggest cellaring for at least 5 years but it will last a lot longer. If you want to drink it now - which many have - we would recommend decanting for 24 hours.
