When Chateau Musar say "2011 was the most challenging experiences in wine-making at Chateau Musar over the last 20 years" then you know it must have been a tricky year. The reason for this was the amount of rain they had in the Spring and she pushed the ventage back a month. Infact only in 1983 did they harvest later than they did in 2011. The wine is a classic blend of Carignan, Cinsault and Cabernet Sauvignon and they produced a vibrantly powerful wine which can be drunk now or cellared for a good 10 years plus.
