We were very proud of the achievements of our Level 3 Award in Wines students in 2021. With a pass rate of 80% which is well above the national average of 60% pass and mostly with Distinction.
Our Level 3 course is a mixture of 10 two hour evening classes and 3 four hour Sunday sessions. We believe this an effective course duration - not too intensive but not overlong either.
The Winter 2022 course runs from 11th January - 20th March please see dates below:

An advanced level qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and for wine enthusiasts.
For individuals seeking to delve deeper into the world of wines, this qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and wine making. Upon completion you will be able to assess wines accurately, and use your understanding to confidently explain wine style and quality. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

How to taste wines, describe their characteristics and evaluate their quality, using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
This qualification has a minimum requirement of 84 hours of study time, including 32 hours of classroom time with a WSET course provider.*
Unit 1 is assessed by a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions and a short-written answer paper. Unit 2 is assessed by a blind tasting of two wines.
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual
It is recommended that you hold the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits or can demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge. You must be of legal drinking age in the country where you are attending the course and exam to participate in any alcohol tasting. However, this is not a barrier to successfully completing Unit 1.
