2008 Adanti Montefalco Sagrantino Riserva 'Il Domenico'
An intense ruby red with hues of garnet, and a range of aromatics on the nose: blackcurrant, tobacco, coffee and graphite. A warm, powerful, spiced wine with balanced and velvet-smooth tannins and a long lingering finish.
The Adanti farm in Umbria was one of the first to produce Sagrantino wine from indigenous grapes, Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG both dry and sweet. This one is dry and is dedicated to the founder of the winery, Domenico Adanti. Made from the best selection of grapes grown exclusively in a vineyard on the Hills of Colcimino, It ages for 36 months in oak barrels and 24 months in glass.
