2016 Vergelegen Reserve Merlot Stellenbosch

Vergelegen is an iconic estate covering over 3,000 hectares, of which 148 hectares are vineyards ranging in altitude from 140m to 310m above sea level. All wines are made with grapes from the estate vineyards. The Reserve Merlot has a beautiful nose of black cherries, plum, spice and a touch of chocolate. The layers of smooth black forest fruit are balanced by fresh acidity and soft tannins. The finish is long and lingering. This would make a fantastic Sunday lunch wine.
