2016 Famille Fournier Longchamps Savennieres Chamboureau
Savennières is renowned for making the finest dry Chenin Blanc with incredible nerve and energy. The small appellation of just 145 hectares is situated south west of Angers on the north bank of the Loire river on a mixture of schist, clay and slate.
The “Chamboureau” is grown on pure schist and aged for 12 months in oak barrels and aged further for 6 months on their fine lees in large oak vats. The finished wine is pale color with golden glints. On the nose aromas of Citrus and exotic fruits complemented by white peach, roundness and mineral aftertaste on the palate.
