2018 Bodegas Roda Sela

Bodegas Roda is one of the most noted modern Rioja producers. Sela was first introduced in 2008 and uses bush vines of between 15 and 30 years old. Yields are kept low to aid concentration of intense aromas and depth of flavour complexity on the palate. For this vintage 95% of the grapes are Tempranillo with the remainder split between Graciano and Garnacha.  Following 19 days of maceration, Sela is aged for 12 months in 100% semi-new French oak.

This lovely Rioja is bursting with red fruit aromas –raspberries, strawberries and cherries and slightly spicy notes. The palate is elegant with lively, fresh flavours. The wood is well-integrated and the finish is persistent—a delicious wine to enjoy now and for years to come.
