2019 Domaine Lionel Faury Saint Joseph La Gloriette Vieilles Vignes

Domaine Lionel Faury are an absolute star of a Domaine, even by Northern Rhones standards. Family owned and 17 hectares of some of the best sites in the Rhone. 

This is his Saint Joseph and what a stunner it is! Made from 45 to 65 year old vines which are interestingly planted on a North facing slope. This orientation protect the vines from the wind coming from the South, allowing the grapes to ripen longer. 

So this is full bodied and juicy, clearly some tannic structure but this only adds to its ability to age. That said its bursting with quality and character and with a few hours decant drinking well now.
