2020 Joseph Cattin Pinot Gris 'Orange'
Generations of the Cattin family have been working the estate since the middle of the 18th century. Today, the estate is run by Jacques senior and Jacques junior and at 50 hectares is one of the largest family-owned estates in Alsace. The Cattin family farm using organic principles.
Fully ripe grapes are hand-harvested in September and undergo whole bunch maceration for 48 hours to impart more flavour and texture. Fermentation takes place in old oak casks with a further aging on fine lees.
This Pinot Gris is full-bodied, complex and rich and a great introduction to orange wines. Would be great with cheese!
