Next Thursday, 29th May from 7–9pm, join us for a relaxed evening of sake tasting with the amazing sake educator Miho Komatsu from Akashi-Tai Brewery. She’ll be walking us through some top-notch sakes, accompanied by sushi and sashimi from our friends at DOMO to go with it.
One of our importers asked if we could host this last-minute — and we said absolutely!
More info below. Don’t miss it 🍶🍣
It’s short notice—but it’s going to be a great night.
Sake is brewed like beer and enjoyed like wine—valued for its subtle complexity, smooth texture and perfectly balanced flavours.
Founded in the 1800s in the coastal town of Akashi (just west of Kobe), Akashi-Tai is still family-run today. They produce small-batch, handcrafted premium sake that blends centuries of tradition with modern precision and expressive character.
The tasting will be led by Miho Komatsu, Akasha-Tai's international ambassador. Not only is Miho a WSET-qualified sake educator she is also a sake sommelier and holds a Grand Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris! Miho will take us through the whole process from rice selection and milling( super important!), traditonal brewing methods, sake terminology and the flavour nuance of each sake. She’ll explain what sets each style of sake apart and help you appreciate the flavours in every sip.
