2010 was a year to remember in Lebanese wine-making history. The lack of snow and rain meant water was in short supply. Plus a summer heatwave causing the highest ever temperature recorded in the Bekaa Valley at 48.5° C meant that the grapes didn’t fully mature, they dried, as water disappeared from the grapes causing high sugar concentration. The 2010 is a savoury, herby blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan with delicate spice notes and dried fruit aromas which follow through to the palate. A long and complex wine with ripe dark fruits, a hint of tea leaf and silky, integrated tannins.
