Celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau Day - Beaujolais Cru Tasting Flight Thursday 17th November

Celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau Day - Beaujolais Cru Tasting Flight Thursday 17th November

Following on from last years successful evening we thought we would celebrate the day again with a few changes and different wines of course. Lighter reds like this are proving ever more popular and we think they show such great quality for the money. We are huge fans of Beaujolais and and its delightful fruit flavours balanced by earthy minerality and a fresh acidity that keeps you coming back for more. The Beaujolais crus are quite distinctive from each other and this flight highlights those differences.

Of course Beaujolais Nouveau Day celebrates the first wine of the harvest. The Nouveau isn't released until 12.01am on the third Thursday in November and the race is then on to get it here on time. Fresh and fruity with a clean uncluttered palate this wine doesn’t take itself too seriously and is designed to be drunk young, though we think it settles down with a bit of age.

We will serve the 2022 Nouveau and we will show a flight of six of the less well known Cru Beaujolais, including a white, and an even lesser known Beaujolais-Villages Le Perréon, which could well be the 11th Cru if ever reclassified.

We will serve some saucisson and very much hope to serve a hot cheese dish which will be a perfect Autumnal match for the wine.

This wine tasting is untutored and informal allowing you to taste at your leisure. Full tasting notes on your table will give you background information and space to note any of your own observations. We will be milling around pouring wines and are on hand to chat or answer any questions.

We will contact you after booking to arrange your preferred arrival time.
