Discover Bordeaux – A Guided Wine Tasting with Nick Fisher
Bordeaux is one of the most famous and influential wine regions in the world—renowned for its elegant blends, deep history, and complex classification system. Nestled in southwest France, its vineyards stretch along the banks of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, producing wines that range from powerful and structured to soft and supple, depending on which side of the river you're on. This tasting is a chance to explore the heart of Bordeaux through the glass—understanding what makes this region so iconic, and why its wines have captivated drinkers for centuries.
Join us for a relaxed and informative evening exploring the world of Bordeaux wines, guided by the ever-knowledgeable Nick Fisher, aka Burgundy Nick.
We’ll kick things off with an aperitif of white Bordeaux, before diving into a flight of six red wines—a handpicked mix from the Left Bank, Right Bank, and Entre-Deux-Mers.
Nick will walk us through the key styles, explain the grape varieties, decode the Bordeaux wine laws, and help make sense of the terroir and the all-important Left vs Right Bank differences—without the jargon.
To complement the wines, we’ll serve generous plates of charcuterie during the red flight.
We’ll finish on a high with the legendary and luscious Sauternes dessert wine, paired perfectly the French way with a savoury cheese.
Spaces are limited, so book early for an evening of great wine, good food, and expert (yet down-to-earth) insight.
This isn’t your typical tasting—it's a laid-back, interactive experience designed for up to 22 guests. Wines to be finalised but we'll gather around large tables and start the evening with an aperitif, then settle in for a tasting that features six distinct wines and a dessert wine. We'll all be on hand throughout the evening to chat and help pour.
