La Rioja and Beyond! Marques de Riscal Tutored Tasting Thursday 18th July @ 7pm

Join us for a tutored tasting exploring the rich heritage and innovative spirit of one of Rioja's most prestigious wineries. This unique event will be led by Ruth Sutton who has worked for the company for 30 years and will guide us through a carefully curated flight of six wines, offering insights into the winery's history, winemaking techniques, and the distinctive characteristics of each wine.

The origins of Marques de Riscal trace back to 1858, when it was established by Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga. Marques de Riscal holds the distinction of being the first winery to bottle Rioja, a significant milestone in the history of Spanish winemaking. In 1895, the winery achieved international acclaim as the first non-French wine to win the diploma of honour at the Bordeaux Exhibition, solidifying its reputation on the global stage.

Nowadays with its state of the art winery, Frank Gehry designed City of Wine and Michelin starred restaurant, Marques de Riscal combines innovation while still respecting the traditions of Rioja. Their commitment to quality and creativity has earned them a top spot in the wine world;
