“Marquista” Two New Manzanilla En Rama Releases for Lovers of Fine Sherry

We are thrilled to introduce an exceptional new project that celebrates the tradition of Sherry in its purest form:“Marquista” Manzanilla En Rama and “Marquista” Manzanilla ‘Old’ En Rama from Sanlúcar de Barrameda. These are genuinely the best sherries we have tried in years!

Andy first tasted these a couple of months ago at a trade tasting and is as excited now as he was when he first tried them. He said,

" This is brilliant, dry - yes! But it has a remarkable richness in body coming from the en Rama. Lots going on, plenty of saltiness, yeasty but some lovely almond character and layers of complexity and depth."

‘Marquista’ Manzanilla En Rama is drawn straight from the cask with minimal intervention and captures Manzanilla at its most vibrant and authentic—bone dry, fresh, saline and alive with character. This is Sherry as it was meant to be experienced, unfiltered and expressive.

What makes this release truly extraordinary is its rarity. With a production of just 240 bottles in this limited release, “Marquista” Manzanilla En Rama is a fleeting opportunity to taste a wine that authentically reflects its place and time.

Alongside comes an even rarer expression: ‘Marquista’ Old Manzanilla En Rama, drawn from a smaller 38-barrel solera. This wine has an average of four years’ biological ageing under flor, followed by a further four years of static ageing. This wine is a deeper, more contemplative take on this iconic style. With extended ageing under flor, it reveals added layers of complexity—nutty, savoury, and beautifully textured—while retaining the coastal freshness that defines great Manzanilla. Some bodegas in Sanlúcar would describe this style as Manzanilla Pasada, an older and more developed style of Manzanilla.

It’s a fascinating wine that sits somewhere between the freshness of Manzanilla and the deeper, nuttier character associated with Amontillado Sherry.

With only 140 bottles in this limited release, the ‘Old’ Manzanilla En Rama, offers a unique glimpse into the evolution of this delicious wine.
