Bruno Rocca’s Langhe Nebbiolo “Fralù” 2022 comes from the family’s younger, 6–10‑year‑old vineyards just south of Barbaresco. The Roccas have been making wine here since the mid‑19th century, but it wasn’t until 1978 that Bruno began bottling under his own name. The vines grow in calcareous marl and sandy soils, giving the wine a fresh minerality. After a short cold soak and around two weeks of fermentation in stainless steel, the wine spends about a year in French oak barrels before a final rest in bottle.
On the nose ripe raspberry and dark cherry mingle with rose petals and a hint of warm spice. The palate is light‑footed but lively, with juicy red fruits, crisp acidity and soft, fine tannins. A hint of dried herbs and gentle oak spice carries through to a smooth, lasting finish.
This 2022 “Fralù” is already friendly and easy to enjoy, yet it has enough structure to gain extra depth if you keep a few bottles in your cellar for the next 5–8 years.
Would be great with Mushroom risotto, roast pork with herbs, aged Pecorino or Fontina:, Grilled mediterranean vegetables.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
