The 2023 Fire by Night is an exceptional single origin Chenin Blanc grown on Alheit's own Paardeberg property in Swartland.
The nose unfolds with crisp mineral notes—think of struck flint intermingled with hints of green citrus and subtle herbal accents reminiscent of wild mountain fynbos. On the palate, the wine is both focused and vivacious, with an invigorating acidity that highlights layers of lemongrass and ginger while maintaining a refined savoury core. The finish is remarkably long and bracing, with a whisper of olive-brine that hints at its potential to evolve beautifully over time.
