The Adriano family has been farming vines in the Langhe for over a century. Today, brothers Marco and Vittorio continue the work in Neive, crafting wines and grappas that stay true to their land and traditions. They send the pomace from the pressing of Nebbiolo grapes destined for Barbaresco to the Sibona Distillery to be distilled to make Grappa
This is a grappa to savour not rush, pale gold in colour with faint warm tones from the barrel ageing. On the nose there are aromas of Nebbiolo softened by oak: think dried red cherry, a touch of cherry-wood, hints of toasted vanilla, nuts, tobacco leaf. The palate is smooth and warming. The oak gives roundness — toasted edges, a bit of smoke, nutty elements — but the grappa remains clean, not heavy. Fruit echoes (red cherry, subtle berry) are still there, though more subdued. Alcohol is present but lends warmth without harshness.
