The 2021 José Zuccardi Malbec is a tribute crafted by Sebastián Zuccardi in honour of his father José, reflecting a deep respect for traditional winemaking. This elegant blend highlights black fruit aromas characteristic of Malbec, enriched by a subtle presence of Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are meticulously selected from Paraje Altamira for the Malbec and Gualtallary for the Cabernet Sauvignon, ensuring exceptional quality. The winemaking process embraces gentle techniques: tanks are filled by gravity to preserve the fruit’s integrity, and fermentation takes place in concrete vats with native yeast, fostering natural complexity. Extended maceration over 20 days includes daily delestage and pigeage, extracting balanced tannins and colour. The wine matures in large oak foudres, imparting subtle wood influence while maintaining freshness. Finally, it is bottled unfiltered to capture the wine’s full expression, resulting in a distinctive Malbec that honours tradition while showcasing regional terroir and careful craftsmanship.
