Based in the heart of Hampshire’s Test Valley, Black Chalk is an English winery founded by winemaker Jacob Leadley. Focusing on traditional-method sparkling wines, they work exclusively with grapes from chalk-rich soils in Hampshire.
Only 1,939 bottles of Inversion were made. This Blanc de Noir blends 97% stainless steel-aged wine with 3% aged in older Burgundian barrels. Made from Pinot Noir clones 777, 386, 521, and 817—mostly 777 (67%) for its bold character—it shows depth and power from Black Chalks Upper Levels vineyard. No malolactic fermentation and no fining preserve purity. Concentrated red fruit, vibrant acidity, and a long, clean finish.
