Bottled by Samaroli, the Spey 2023 Edition is an independently selected single malt sourced from the Speyside whisky region, one of Scotland’s most celebrated areas for refined and fruit-driven malts. Distilled at an undisclosed Speyside distillery and matured in oak before bottling in 2023, the whisky reflects Samaroli’s philosophy of selecting casks that prioritise aromatic complexity, balance and clarity of spirit character. As with many Samaroli releases, production is limited and individually numbered, highlighting the rarity of the bottling.
Tasting note:
The whisky opens with lifted aromatics of orchard fruit and citrus, showing notes of green apple, pear and lemon zest, layered with vanilla, honey and delicate floral tones. On the palate it is smooth and well-structured, with flavours of ripe stone fruit, malt sweetness and gentle oak spice unfolding gradually. Subtle hints of toasted almond, soft caramel and white pepper add complexity while maintaining freshness and precision. The finish is clean and persistent, with lingering notes of vanilla, citrus oils and lightly spiced oak, offering a balanced and elegant expression of Speyside single malt.
