Made from 100% Pinot Noir, this elegant English red comes from Mason’s Point and Crows Lane vineyards in the Crouch Valley, Essex, one of England’s warmest and driest regions for viticulture. The region’s mineral-rich clay soils help build structure and concentration, while the relatively warm 2024 growing season allowed the grapes to achieve excellent ripeness. Even still it was picked into the middle of November. Gently extracted and matured in French oak, including new barriques and a large oak foudre, the wine combines the purity of ripe fruit with savoury complexity and a distinctly Burgundian sensibility.

Tasting note: Deep ruby in colour, with expressive aromas of ripe cranberry, black cherry and red plum, complemented by smoky earth, subtle spice and hints of forest floor. The palate is richly flavoured yet beautifully poised, with layers of juicy red and dark fruit balanced by fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins. Notes of cracked pepper and savoury earth add depth, while restrained oak lends gentle warmth and complexity. The finish is long and persistent, with lingering red fruit, peppery spice and an elegant mineral freshness.
