2022 Domaine Rene Bouvier Gevrey Chambertin Racine du Temps Très Vieilles Vignes 1 x 6 (in bond)
"Racine du Temps" Très Vieilles Vignes is sourced from two prestigious parcels, "Le Créot" and "Pince-Vin," spanning a combined area of one hectare. With an average vine age of 90 years, these ancient vineyards produce limited yields of small, intensely concentrated grapes, imparting remarkable depth and complexity to the wine.
On the palate it’s sleek and structured, yet generous. Fine, silky tannins frame layers of red fruit, light herb, and a whisper of baking spice, while fresh acidity gives the wine lift and momentum. There’s a clarity here that makes it very approachable, but it also hints at complexity to come.
The finish is long and clean, with lingering cherry, subtle spice, and a mineral edge. Already enjoyable with air, but this has the balance and depth to develop beautifully over the next decade.
