The 2020 Domaine Vincent Girardin Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru “Les Chaumées” is a white Burgundy from a steep, stony, east-facing vineyard in the northern part of Chassagne-Montrachet, made from 40-year-old Chardonnay vines and crafted in a restrained, terroir-driven style. It expresses citrus, herbs and floral notes with a touch of toasty brioche, showing both richness and strong mineral precision, with fine acidity that keeps everything balanced. The wine is elegant yet concentrated, already enjoyable young with some air, but also suitable for short- to medium-term cellaring, and pairs especially well with seafood, lighter poultry, soft cheeses and herb-accented dishes.
