Wayfarer Vineyard, Fort Ross-Seaview
Wayfarer is born in a wild place, just 4 miles from the pacific coast but 1,100 feet above sea level. Nestled amongst the redwoods and mountain roads are some of regions most extreme vineyards. Wayfarer was designed around 30 one acre blocks each one for a specific individual clone. All the grapes are handpicked as whole bunches before sunrise and taken to the winery. Vinification is done with a velvet touch so gentle pressing, carefully racking and natural yeasts.
The 2020 Wayfarer 2020 Chardonnay from Wayfarer Vineyard is a vibrant, coastal-style Chardonnay from the Fort Ross–Seaview region — lively and layered, with a minerally freshness that reflects its cool-climate origins. On the nose it offers lemon-tart brightness, honeysuckle, tangerine and pear, evolving with time toward orange-blossom, white-peach, chamomile and a subtle flinty note.
On the palate it’s medium-bodied yet textured, with satiny depth, generous acidity and a long, mineral-tinged finish. The wine balances richness and precision - ideal now with roasted poultry, rich fish or subtly spiced dishes, yet structured enough to age gracefully over the next 5–10 years.
