Pétillant has a little less atmospheres than traditional sparkling wines and Champagne and this shows with a softer mouth feel and gentle bubbles. The production method is more demanding, requiring higher quality base wine and skilled winemaking. Domaine Huet sees it as a challenge that offers a greater reward by displaying the true essence of their Chenin Blanc.
It lends itself more to a table wine rather than celebratory due to its more vinous style. Dosage levels are consistent with Champagne and rely less on sweetness for complexity.
