Wayfarer Vineyard, Fort Ross-Seaview
Wayfarer is born in a wild place, just 4 miles from the pacific coast but 1,100 feet above sea level. Nestled amongst the redwoods and mountain roads are some of regions most extreme vineyards. Wayfarer was designed around 30 one acre blocks each one for a specific individual clone. All the grapes are handpicked as whole bunches before sunrise and taken to the winery. Vinification is done with a velvet touch so gentle pressing, carefully racking and natural yeasts.
The wine has aromas of citrus and crisp orchard fruit—lemon zest, green apple, a touch of white peach. Subtle oak tones sit quietly in the background: a hint of almond, light toast, and a gentle creaminess from time on lees. The palate is medium-bodied and finely textured, carrying that coastal freshness straight through the mid-palate. Lively acidity keeps everything lifted, drawing out a long, mineral-tinged finish with a faint saline edge.
Serve around 10–12°C. Excellent with simply prepared seafood, roast chicken, soft-rind cheeses, or dishes with light citrus or herbal accents.
