One of the driest Winters ever recorded, the flowering period faced challenges in wet and cold conditions. However, the Summer of 1980 brought a shift to hot and dry weather. The harvest, commencing on September 29th, enjoyed consistently dry conditions, providing excellent picking conditions throughout. Despite relatively brief fermentations, the resulting Port wines displayed remarkable colour and body, featuring ruby and cherry red tones gently fading at the edges.
The port boasts an appealing bouquet of fresh fruit and spice, revealing surprising youthfulness and intensity. Elegantly crafted, it is well-balanced with a pleasing weight, showcasing firm, full fruit flavours that persist with a refreshing quality through to the finish.
