Distilled in November 2000 and aged in a bourbon cask for 20 years, this rare single grain whisky was bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. for their Cooper's Choice range. Limited to only 246 bottles, Dumbarton's Lowland grain whisky was once a major contributor to Ballantine's blended scotch, but now only a few casks remain, including this 2000 vintage at 56.5% ABV. Originally built in 1938, the Dumbarton distillery was closed in 2002 by owners Pernod Ricard to focus on Strathclyde distillery, and the site was eventually demolished.
