The 2007 growing season followed a wet winter that replenished water reserves after four consecutive hot, dry years.
Humid weather persisted through spring and early summer, accompanied by cooler than average temperatures and intermittent rainfall. Notably, the summer months passed without any prolonged heatwaves. During the first half of September, temperatures held steady between 35ºC and 38ºC each day.
These warm, dry conditions brought the grapes to ideal ripeness, enhancing sugar and phenolic development while preserving the excellent natural acidity achieved during the relatively cool summer. The result was a harvest of perfectly balanced musts that produced refined, elegant Vintage Ports - vibrant, energetic, and marked by fresh, concentrated fruit.
Deep, opaque purple-black colour with a thin violet rim. The wine is distinctly stylish and vibrant, offering aromas of dense blackcurrant and forest fruits accented by subtle herbal notes and hints of violet and rose petal. True to the Taylor profile, its understated elegance masks considerable energy and structure. The palate reveals firm, finely knit tannins typical of Taylor, along with the vivid, precisely defined fruit flavours that characterize the 2007 vintage.
