The 2008 Vergelegen Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Stellenbosch combines blackcurrant and spice aromas with tobacco, tomato leaf, and dried herbs. It is full-bodied with concentrated dark fruit, firm tannins, and a rich yet fresh profile. Generous oak and black fruit flavors linger on the finish.
These 2008 were certainly built to age and while fully mature they have a classic almost Bordeaux feel to them.
