Produced by the legendary Domaine Ramonet, this is one of the most sought-after wines from Burgundy. The 2010 vintage is widely regarded for its precision, acidity and ageing potential, offering a balance of concentration and freshness. Sourced from the finest parcels within this Grand Cru, the wine is vinified with meticulous care and matured in French oak barriques (a proportion new), with extended lees ageing to build texture and complexity.
Tasting note:
The wine shows a pale gold hue with subtle evolution, opening with a highly complex nose of white peach, lemon curd and ripe orchard fruit, layered with acacia, hazelnut, buttered brioche and fine spice. A pronounced mineral intensity—often described as stony or chalk-driven—anchors the aromatics.
On the palate it is full-bodied yet impeccably structured, with concentrated fruit and a powerful core of acidity providing tension and drive. Flavours of citrus, stone fruit and toasted nuts unfold in layers, supported by a creamy texture from lees ageing and seamlessly integrated oak. The finish is exceptionally long, precise and mineral, combining richness with remarkable clarity.
A benchmark Montrachet showing depth, balance and definition, now entering a complex stage of development while retaining the structure for continued ageing over the long term.
