Justerini & Brooks constructed the Auchroisk distillery in 1974 to provide a consistent source of malt whisky for their J&B blend. Some casks do turn up as single malts and this independent bottling by Coopers Choice is finished in a Madeira cask.
The whisky has a classic single malt character with added complexity from its Madeira cask finish, opening with aromas of dried fruits, caramel, and subtle oak. The palate reveals a harmonious blend of rich malt flavours, gentle spice, and pronounced fruity sweetness, culminating in a smooth, lingering finish that balances traditional Scotch depth with warm, fortified Madeira nuances.
