This limited edition 2011 Coopers Choice Whisky Dailuaine Port Finish is crafted from Speyside single malt distilled at the Dailuaine distillery. It was first aged in an American Oak cask before being transferred to a single ex-Port wood cask for a unique finish, enhancing the already rich and spicy Dailuaine malt spirit with fruity notes. Despite its incredible 5,200,000 litre annual capacity, Dailuaine distillery release only a few official bottlings under independent bottlers. In fact, only around 2% of their production is released as single malts, while the bulk is reserved for the base of Johnnie Walker range.
On the nose the whisky offers aromas of red berries, dark fruits, and subtle oak mixed with spice and vanilla. On the palate, it offers a rich, fruit-forward sweetness reminiscent of port wine alongside classic malt characteristics like toasted grain and nuttiness. The whisky finishes smoothly with lingering hints of spice, chocolate, and caramel that balance its layered complexity
