These late harvest 'Vendage Tardive' wines are made only in the best of years and are harvested when the grapes are overripe and some may be affected by botrytis (noble rot) which dehydrates the grapes, concentrating the sugars. The bouquet is intense with tropical notes of pineapple, mango and passionfruit, the spicy notes of the Gewürztraminer shine through on the nose. The palate is intense and complex, full of tropical fruits, roses and spice. The fresh acidity in this wine balances the residual sugar superbly and leads to a long finis.
