A traditional Vin Santo from Ricasoli’s historic Brolio estate, made from Malvasia, Trebbiano and Sangiovese. The grapes were hand harvested on 25 September 2015, then hung to dry for several months before a slow fermentation and an extraordinary nine years of maturation in small oak caratelli. Bottled in July 2025, the wine is 16.5% ABV with 117g/L glucose and fructose.
Tasting note:
Deep amber-gold, with aromas of dried dates, apricot, toasted nuts, honey and delicate florals. The palate is rich, soft and enveloping, with concentrated dried fruit, caramelised citrus and subtle oxidative spice, beautifully balanced by fresh acidity. The finish is long, warm and persistent, returning to the dried-fruit and nutty character.
A wonderfully traditional Tuscan dessert wine, where nine years in caratelli brings remarkable depth and complexity while the natural acidity keeps the richness beautifully balanced.
