Château Haut-Bages Libéral is a notable Bordeaux estate managed by Claire Villars-Lurton, who also oversees Château Ferrière and Château La Gurgue, and is married to Gonzague Lurton of Château Durfort-Vivens in Margaux. Situated just a short walk from some of the most prestigious names in wine, its vineyards—currently transitioning to organic and biodynamic practices—border Château Latour and lie behind Château Pichon Baron. This Pauillac benefits from exceptional terroir and expert guidance from consultant Eric Boissenot, renowned for his work with top estates like Latour and Lafite Rothschild. The second wine, La Chapelle de Haut-Bages Libéral, crafted from younger vines, offers a refined Claret with notes of red fruit, crème de cassis, and cigar box, showcasing elegance and excellent value, especially from the outstanding 2016 vintage.
