2017 Gaja Barolo 'Dagromis'
Gaja's Barolo Dagromis wine comes from one of the most reputable vineyards in the area. These are old vines planted on calcareous clay and marl soils, 400 metres above sea level. They are respectfully cultivated without the use of chemical products. In the winery, the grapes ferment with the skins in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and the process ends with a 12-month aging in barrels followed by a further 18 months in large oak casks.
It is a concentrated red wine that exudes rich aromas of ripe red fruits, notes of red flowers and balsamic hints. On the palate it is smooth, warm and deep. A balanced wine with noticeable acidity and velvety tannins. The finish is very lingering and persistent.
