Noon burst onto the scene back in the mid 1990’s and it has fast become a cult wine. Its only produced in tiny quantities and there is a sorry sold-out sign on the cellar door for most of the year.
Grapes for the Reserve Shiraz have been sourced from the same vineyard (the 1.6 hectare ‘20 Rows’ Block in Langhorne Creek owned by the Borrett family) since the first Reserve Shiraz in 1997.
Noon wines are renowned for their power and concentration, but they have some backbone as well. Yes it might be over 15% but it has more than enough fruit to soak up that alcohol. It’s aged for 18 months in oak and bursting with Aussie attitude.
Their Shiraz Reserve is dense and full bodied. with a rounded texture and excellent balance is excellent,. This is a lovely wine to drink now or cellar for many years.
