Bright, lifted and quietly powerful, the 2017 Pora Riserva opens with aromas of dried cherry, rose petal and a touch of orange peel. There’s a gentle earthiness underneath—think tobacco leaf and warm clay—keeping things grounded.

On the palate it’s firm but not heavy. Fine tannins frame flavours of red berries, cranberry and a hint of spice, with a savoury edge that builds as it sits in the glass. Acidity keeps everything fresh and moving, giving it real poise despite the warm vintage.

The finish is long, slightly grippy and nicely balanced, with lingering notes of cherry, herbs and a faint mineral touch. Approachable now with air, but it will reward patience over the next decade or more.
