2019 Antonio Vallano et Figlio 'Innominato' Colline Novaresi Bianco
Antonio Villano et Figlio is situated in the Alto Piemonte in the top North West corner of Italy, heading towards the border with Switzerland. It is a mountainous, cool climate region, influenced by the fresh winds from the Alpine glaciers tempering the higher afternoon temperatures in the growing season.
The wine is made using the little seen Italian grape Erbaluce and it is certainly an unusual wine. The abounding acidity really gives it character, but it needs to be paired with very light dishes.
Pale yellow in colour, on the nose their are light note of apple and melon. On the palate flavours of ripe apple and honeydew melon. Smooth and slightly creamy with a zesty mouthfeel and a dramatic finish that is uplifting, and fresh.
