2020 Domaine Jean Collet et Fils Chablis 'Montee de Tonnerre' 1er Cru

Domaine Jean Collets et Fils are spread over the best slopes of the Right and Left Banks of the Serein with 4 levels of appellation. Their wines stand out for their purity freshness, finesse and minerality.

Montée de Tonnerre is located on the right bank of the Serein next to their Grands Crus and benefits from south-west sunshine. It lies within the delimited zone of Chablis Premier Crus, an area where the limestone soil is rich in marine fossils and in particular Exogyra Virgula, a small oyster type fossil. 

Each wine of the Domaine is vinified differently though all undergo spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. The Montee de Tonnerre is aged for around 16 months  in 228 litre burgundy barrels. 

There is generous fruit on the nose and also soft woody aromas  Medium to full bodied this wine coats the palate but has an edge of minerality and delivers a long satisfying finish.
