Mr. Killerman lived a simple life in a modest tin shed nestled in the hills behind Kilikanoon. A true bushman, he foraged the valley for his meals like wild rabbit and other local delicacies living in harmony with the land around him. Killerman’s Run pays tribute to this connection with nature, drawing on the richness of the Clare Valley by sourcing and blending fruit from across the region to create a wine that is both seamless and expressive of its diverse landscape.
The dry, warm conditions of the 2020 vintage resulted in lower yields but intensely flavoured fruit. Below-average rainfall further concentrated the grapes’ natural structure, and through meticulous fruit selection and precise blending, this wine captures the true essence of the variety as expressed by the Clare Valley.
Each parcel was vinified separately and kept apart until the final blend was carefully assembled. Twelve months of maturation in seasoned French oak hogsheads has lent the wine a graceful softness and added elegance to its silky, refined palate.
