Irrewarra is a winemaking project by Nick Farr, of By Farr in Geelong. Nick has sought out a 3 hectare vineyard near the small town of Irrewarra (150 kilometres west of Melbourne) predominately planted with Pinot Noir with just under one hectare of Chardonnay. The Chardonnay grapes are whole-bunch pressed and undergoes malolactic fermentation.
On the nose there is a delicious minerality with an array of fresh and elegant citrus elements. The palate has a freshness of acidity and balance of flavours with well-defined lime-blossom and lemon essence, layered with chalky inflections, and leads to a long finish.
