2021 Newton Johnson Falkirk Syrah

Grown at 220 meters in Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley on granite soils, this Syrah benefits from cool Atlantic influences just 4-8km away. Mountain formations channel ocean breezes during summer ripening. The winemaking employs traditional methods: hand-harvesting, overnight cooling, indigenous yeast fermentation with 50% whole bunches, and minimal intervention before barrel aging.

The wine shows a lovely fruit with plenty of spice and lovely soft tannins.
