Weingut Stefan Meyer is one of 13 producers in Rhodt, a small village 40 kilometers north of the French border. Stefan's family has roots in Hessen, and he has been making wine at the family cellar since 2009. The cellar, established in 1954, underwent a transition from aromatic to 'Pinot' varieties initiated by Stefan's father.

Stefan, with 17 hectares under organic cultivation since 2021, is expanding to an additional 13 hectares from 2023, it is Stefan’s objective to convert some of this land to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, whilst retaining parcels of older vine Riesling.

The grapes for this wine were harvested from the Rosengarten and Schlossberg sites, cultivated on red sandstone and clay soil. Grapes were handpicked and spontaneously fermented in wooden barrels to gain complexity then aged on lees for 8-10 months, and matured in various-sized oak barrels.

The Chardonnay showcases the Rhodt vineyards' unique character, displaying structure, power, and individuality. Experience cool, mineral, fruit notes with an elegant touch of fine wood spice.
