2022 Hayes Family Wines Vineyard Series 'Field Blend Block 8' GSM Stonewell

Hayes Family Wines was established in 2014 and is principally located on the Barossa Valley. They are the proud custodians of a  historic Barossa vineyard and create  classically-styled wines that reflect their unique sites.

From 'Block 8' at the top of the Stone Well home farm, this one-acre vineyard is planted with Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro—a classic GSM blend. Co-fermented and harvested last on the farm, all three varieties remarkably ripen simultaneously. Production is limited to around 600 bottles per vintage.

Expect aromas of red and dark fruits interwoven with hints of pepper, herbs, and a subtle minerality reminiscent of its stony vineyard origins. On the palate there are flavours of ripe fruit and savoury spice. There is a pleasing structure to the wine marked by a textured mouthfeel, firm tannins and an enduring vibrancy.
